Well, I tried again today, & I followed this recipe - http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Mango-Chutney-230708
It's not bad. It's edible, which is more than I can say about my first attempt. BUT, it's nothing like what I get at the local Indian restaurant - theirs is like a spicy mango jam, & it's amazing.
I doubt I'll ever be able to replicate it perfectly, but I would love to get a result that's closer to what you can get in jars in the supermarket. Mine turned out very liquidy, although I followed the instructions exactly.
So, has anyone made a mango chutney that turned out amazingly? I'm getting desperate, & I'm about ready to go to the supermarket & buy a $5 bottle just so I can have it.
